Why did Reid step down from teaching in 2018? In early 2018, some very brave people came forward sharing harms that PPWCFT creator, Reid Mihalko, had caused them. Reid stepped down from teaching and initiated a restorative justice-based accountability process to address his misconduct and make amends if and where possible. The formal, year-long process along with Reid’s apology and resources were shared publicly and can be found at HERE. Going forward, Reid’s projects and appearances will include pointing people towards resources and experts on restorative and transformative justice-based accountability processes.

What Airport Should I Fly Into? Portland International Airport (PDX). PDX is approx 27-mins ($28+tip Lyft ride) from Reid's house, give or take a few minutes on account of traffic.

What AMTRAK or Greyhound stop should I get my ticket for if I'm not flying in? Greyhound stops within walking distance of AMTRAK's Union Station. TRIMET will let you know what buses and MAX Train Lines stop near Union Station in Portland and which ones you can take to Gresham. You're in charge of getting yourself to Reid's from there.

I'm staying at an AirBnB or a friend's house and don't want to rent a car... Can I take public transportation to get to Reid's house? You can. The MAX Blue Line's Cleveland Stop in Gresham is only a short Lyft ride from Reid's house. There are also a few bus stops within walking distance of Reid's house. The City of Gresham even has a Transportation Page to help you get around! Also, TRIMET and Google Maps can help.

Is Food and Lodging Included? No. You’re responsible for your own travel, meals, and lodging. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages to consume during classes and lunch. Reid and Allison have an extra fridge just for workshop attendees. You're welcome to bring your own food and eat lunch at Reid's house or head to one of Gresham's many nearby restruants.

Where Should I Stay? The event is being held in a private residence. I recommend asking other attendees on Camp's FB group (which you should have been added to) if they'd like to share an AirBnB, or reaching out to any local Sex Geeks you might know on Facebook for a possible futon to crash on. And there’s CouchSurfing.com or regular hotels, too, if that’s your thang.

What's the schedule for the evenings during training? After class "let's out," dinner and your evenings are entirely up to you! Portland is only 25-mins away and has a vibrant Sex Geek and Kink night life, so do some research on what's happening!

I hear Allison and Reid have a hot tub. Is that true? Will we be able to use it? The rumors are true. We have a hot tub. It's clothing optional and you're welcome to use it on breaks and during lunch. You're even welcome to grab a quick soak in the hot tub when class lets out for the evening, but think, like, 20-min soak, okay, then you gotta give Allison and Reid their house back to them!

I also heard that PPWCFT ends with a Wrap Party. Is that true? Can I invite my partner(s)? Yes, it's true! Sunday night from 6-8pm is the Training Wrap Party, where we celebrate "wrapping it all up!" If you don't have to rush off to the airport Sunday night, Training attendees and their loved ones are invited to hang out and celebrate all the hard work and ass-kicking we just did. The clothing optional hot tub will be available. Camp fire and S'mores down by the fire pit (weather allowing). B.Y.O.B. and whatever food you'd like to share or throw on the fire pit's grill. Just to be clear: The Training Wrap Party is a non-sexual celebration. It is NOT a play party (I know, ironic since this is a training all about play parties, right? But actively practicing non-sexual socializing is important, too!).

What is WCPPFT's policy on service animals? Animals that fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) definition of a service animal are allowed at this year's PPWCFT venue (which happens to be my home in this instance). I endeavor to make my trainings as inclusive and accessible as possible. Please let us know in advance so we can properly plan. In general, for all of the events I personally organize and run, depending on the policies of the venue and the needs of attendees, when and if I can, there may be service animals at my events. What should I wear to the Training? Comfortable clothes. We’ll be doing some exercises that require movement as well as listening, dialoguing, note taking, etc, and we want you to be comfortable. You may choose to bring an outfit that you would wear for a play party for the actual play party we will be experiencing together as a group. Bring a sweater if you get cold easily! Bring a bathing suit for the hot tub if clothing optional is not your jam.

What will you be covering? I’ll be teaching you the hows and whys behind the particular style, design, and house rules I use for my Welcome Cirlce-based play parties I've been facilitating for nearly 20 years. We will cover approaches for how YOU can make the Welcome Circle format authentically your own so you won’t be a cookie cutter version of me or anyone else.

Will I be on doing facilitation exercises in front of the group? Yes, but only if you want to. You always have the choice the opt out of any exercises. And, I promise, if you do opt in, it will be easier and more fun than you imagine. We’ll do baby steps to gradually anchor your confidence and your congruent expression with the Play Party Welcome Cirlce format that will leave you feeling empowered and amazing.

Does any of the training require that I be sexual? No. While there will be an oppotunity to experience an actual play party during the training, being sexual is not mandatory. In fact, attending the experiential play party event is also optional (though we do encourage all attendees to come and stay for the Welcome Circle portion of the play party event so you can see and experience an actual Play Party Welcome Cirlce "as it happens").  

Will this training be video taped? Who will see it? Yes. PPWCFT will be recorded. After the Training (and after I have time to edit and upload the videos to a secure page), you’ll be given a password to access to the video recordings so you can re-watch them to further anchor the content for yourself. The training videos will be delivered digitally to you and are for your own educational purposes ONLY. Reid reserves the right to use the footage from PPWCFT for future products, promotions, and training; however, because of the nature of this training, Reid will be sure to get written permission from anyone appearing in the clips he's like to use BEFORE he uses them, thus, you will be able to opt out of whether or not you appear any of the clips he would use publically. 

What’s the guarantee for PPWCFT? There are two guarantees for this. Reid's standard 30-Day Money Back Guarantee from date of purchase (If you're on a payment plan, you can get a refund on whatever payment is less than 30 days old. No refunds within 30 days of the start of the event.). Is PPWCFT a certifcation program? Will I be certified to run play parites by Reid? No. PPWCFT is not a certification program.

Are you saying I can make a living from throwing play parites? Nope. I am not. I can’t promise any particular financial return from taking this training. In fact, the vast majority of play parties I run are for free, and we will discuss why I choose to do that during the training. I can promise that I’ll show you and help you understand and integrate the design principles, beliefs, approaches and techniques for why I use a Welcome Cirlce approach to my play party events.

What if I’m terrified of throwing play parites? It's ok. You never ever have to throw a play party in your life. Ever. And I still think this training will benefit you. If you're feeling called to taking the training, especially given the guarantees I mentioned above, I think you should strongly consider taking it. 

What if I’m already running play parties? Or running play parties that don't have a Welcome Cirlce format? Great! Congratulations! There are a gazillion ways and approaches to running a play party event. I like doing them with a Welcome Cirlce and have my reasons.
